Kwirks at Work

Welcome to Hero-U, a unique Role-playing Adventure Game series.

Hero-U features a strong story and interesting characters, mystery, excitement, danger, and intrigue.

And, of course, Kwirks.

Wednesday Fireside Chat

ChatWe had a great chat beside the fireplace about life, the universe, and Hero-U today. It was another attempt at a good Google+ Hangout, and we had a full crowd. However, we failed to record it for posterity. Which means – we do it all over again!!!

So join us tonight at 11 PM Eastern standard time or 8 for those of us on the West coast. We’ll try to say everything we said earlier to day, and more.

Thanks, Jeremy. We really are passionate about Hero-U. We’re doing everything possible to make this game. It will be challenging, exciting, and fun – and that’s as true for us as for the players. It’s going to be the synergy of the team and the fans that make Hero-U great.

  2. Jeremy Murdoch Says:

Thanks for taking so much time to respond and interact with everyone.

I watched the chats, and they were both informative and entertaining. You two clearly have a lot of passion for what you’re doing. I’m sure there will be as much to love about “Hero-U” as there ever was about “Quest for Glory” and the more I hear about it, the more excited I get.

If we make QfG6, it will probably look like a Sierra game. One of the groups that is bidding for it wants to do a traditional version of the game. One of the groups wants to do a 3D version of it. So it will depend upon who actually gets the license for it.

But it won’t be us. If someone gets the rights to QfG, we will be happy to design the game for them. But Hero-U will be its own unique self. I think it will provide a different game experience from QfG, but one that will be as much fun and more than the original series.

Thanks for the response. You never know with turn-based combat. A lot of the time, you just have the visual equivalent of two opposing football lines waiting for the snap.

I have another question you might be able to answer, but it is a huge hypothetical.

In the event that you guys do return to developing “Quest for Glory” games some time in the future (which would be fantastic), would you make them in the same ‘Adventure Game’ style, or would you use something more like the format you’re currently building for this game?

You guys are great, and things are looking good. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

  5. Lori Says:

Characters will move around in the screen… and the fighting will be animated as well. It would be a dull game without it. :-)

    Thanks for your support!

  6. Jeremy Murdoch Says:

I wish I could make it in to chat with you.

I was curious about something, though.

I would like to hear more about what we can expect in terms of animations. Will the characters animate when walking around? When fighting?

I look forward to watching the chat when it is posted on YouTube.

As always, the best of luck in the remaining days of the campaign!
